Guide: How I Got 5M Views in 90 Days (19 Tactics)

AI Summary

After 26 months of steady but plateaued growth on X (stuck at 1.5-2M views per 90 days), a focused 10-day sprint using 19 specific tactics pushed past the 5M view threshold required for the X Revenue Share Program. The breakthrough came from recognizing early momentum and fully committing: 3.4M of the 5M views came in just 10 days. The core insight is that volume, consistency, and doubling down when something works matters more than any single viral post.

Key takeaways

1

Posting volume was the first lever: going from 1-2 posts per day to 20 posts on day one, with one post hitting 167k views immediately.

2

Replies became a traffic source in their own right, with manual, thoughtful responses (up to 100 per day) generating thousands of views on their own.

3

Recycling old high-performing posts by rewriting them is described as the most stable and reliable tactic for consistent views.

Original post

Hi everyone! My name is Viktor Seraleev. Iโ€™m an indie developer building a portfolio of mobile apps. Over the past two years, Iโ€™ve gone from zero to $60k/month.

On X, I write openly about my journey: what Iโ€™m building, what works, what doesnโ€™t, and the practical lessons I learn along the way.

On January 13, I crossed 5 million views in the last 90 days, which gave me access to the X Revenue Share Program. In this article, I want to break down the key steps that helped me reach this milestone.

Article image

Let me be clear from the start: Iโ€™m not one of those lucky people who posted a single photo and suddenly got millions of views.

This was a long and bumpy road. I started posting actively on X in November 2023. I wouldnโ€™t call my growth fast โ€“ and youโ€™ll see why. The whole journey took 26 months and 13 days.

For a long time, my results were very stable: 1.5โ€“2 million views every 3 months. Solid, but I couldnโ€™t break through that ceiling. At some point, I accepted it and went back to focusing on work.

The Turning Point. Everything changed on January 4, 2026.

I was sitting with my wife, and I showed her another tweet โ€“ someone announcing they had been invited to the X Revenue Share Program. She stayed silent, but it stuck with me.

I opened a calculator. 5 million views. 90 days.That means I needed around 55,000 views per day.

I paused. Hmmโ€ฆ this actually sounds achievable.Letโ€™s try, I said to myself.

My 19 tactics. Bookmark it โ€“ fresh, real-world experience.

Tactic #1 โ€“ Increase Posting Volume

Here I applied exactly the same strategy I use in mobile apps.

In 2025, I ran a challenge where I built 10 apps. Some failed, some worked โ€“ but overall, the strategy paid off. I applied the same logic on day one of my Twitter challenge.

On January 4, I published 20 posts. My usual pace is 1โ€“2 posts per day.

On the very first day, one post reached 167k views.

Article image

The funny part? I was already about to go to sleep, but my wife said: โ€œGo write one more post.โ€ I opened analytics, saw the numbers, and wrote about them.

Several more posts that day โ€“ also with numbers โ€“ reached 20โ€“40k views each.

Tactic #2 โ€“ Reply to Comments (A Lot)

I replied up to 100 times per day.

No AI. No shortcuts.

Article image

I opened my posts and replied manually, sharing my real experience. Not short answers โ€“ thoughtful, detailed replies. At some point, my replies themselves started getting thousands of views.

This became a significant traffic source.

Tactic #3 โ€“ Quote Tweets on Your Own Profile

When someone asked a great question, I quoted it and added my own thoughts.

Article image

X loves quote tweets. If you have something meaningful to add โ€“ quote and expand. I recommend this 100%.

Tactic #4 โ€“ Trends

When I started the challenge, my feed was flooded with posts asking Grok to add bikinis.

Article image

I adapted this trend to my niche several times. It worked. People are curious. They want to see outcomes.

Tactic #5 โ€“ Memes

I simply couldnโ€™t ignore memes.

Article image

They work. They spark discussions. Theyโ€™re easy to create and easy to consume.

Use them.

Tactic #6 โ€“ Photos of Your Setup

Very simple: Clean your desk โ†’ take a photo โ†’ post it.

Article image

Even better: > Quote an existing setup post > Make sure itโ€™s less than 24 hours old

Right now, posts on X live for about 48 hours, so timing matters. Thatโ€™s exactly what I did.

Tactic #7 โ€“ Jump on a Growing Post

One of the best tools. If you see a post starting to take off:

> Comment > Quote > Engage

Article image

Youโ€™re catching the wave.

Tactic #8 โ€“ Share Numbers

An old but gold tactic. Revenue. Sales. Trials. Conversions.

Article image

People love numbers. These posts always perform.

Tactic #9 โ€“ Talk About Your Apps

The funny thing is โ€“ I got so into the challenge that I occasionally posted direct promotion of my own apps.

Article image

Every time I did: > Views stayed strong > Trials and purchases spiked

Tactic #10 โ€“ Summaries & Reflections

I chose the perfect timing.

Article image

During that week, I posted multiple summaries:

> December 2025 results > Business results for 2025 > Personal results for 2025

People love reflections.

Tactic #11 โ€“ Community Posts

I had never used this before.

Article image

During the sprint, I published two useful articles in the buildinpublic community. Both worked.

Tactic #12 โ€“ Articles

An extremely powerful format. X clearly gives special treatment to articles in the algorithm.

Article image

Two of my articles went viral. Write guides. Share real tactics. Be genuinely useful.

Tactic #13 โ€“ Share Secrets

This time, I went fully transparent.

Article image

I shared everything I knew โ€“ openly. It worked.

Tactic #14 โ€“ Tag Other People

A friend once made a YouTube video about me. I casually mentioned him in a post โ€“ with no expectations.

Article image

Adam reposted it. We caught a wave.

Tactic #15 โ€“ Reuse Old Posts

When ideas started running out, I opened analytics. I took posts that performed well in the past, rewrote them, and posted again.

Article image

They went viral again. This is the most stable tactic.

Tactic #16 โ€“ Inspiration Section (Premium)

Premium users have access to the Inspiration tab. It shows posts that are gaining momentum right now.

Article image

Pick relevant ones and comment thoughtfully. One of my comments alone brought tens of thousands of views.

Tactic #17 โ€“ Use News & Info Triggers

Big companies are constantly:

Article image

> Redesigning > Launching products > Announcing updates

Use these moments.

Tactic #18 โ€“ Spread Posts Throughout the Day

Donโ€™t post everything in one hour.

Article image

I spread posts across: > Morning > Lunch > Evening > Before sleep

I replied to comments whenever I had a free minute.

Tactic #19 โ€“ Consistency

If your goal is 5 million views, consistency is non-negotiable.

Article image

The algorithm favors people who show up every day.

Final Thoughts

I originally planned to run this challenge in light mode. But once I saw that the system was working, I fully committed and gave it all my free time.

Out of the 5 million views, 3.4M came in just 10 days. The remaining 1.6M accumulated over the previous 2.5 months.

This wasnโ€™t about luck or one viral post. It was about recognizing momentum and doubling down at the right time.

If I had chosen a different time window, this challenge would have taken much longer. The takeaway is simple: when something starts working โ€“ commit, donโ€™t hesitate.

Additional Notes

To receive payouts, youโ€™ll need to complete identity verification. A national ID is sufficient for verification.

Article image

Payments are processed through Stripe. You only find out the exact payout amount on the payment day. X currently processes Revenue Share payouts about every two weeks, once the minimum payout threshold is reached.

And if you want to turn a plain or ugly screenshot into a bright, eye-catching visual, you can try my appโ€“ it helps transform screenshots into share-ready images.

If you found this useful, donโ€™t forget to bookmark the article and share it with friends. And if you want to learn more about the mobile app business, feel free to follow me.
